Biografía
2012

Margaret was born in Naples, Italy on March 22, 1957 to Joseph Andrew Puleo and Norma Frances (Adams) Puleo.  One of six children among sisters JoAnne Micciulla, Jeanne Cischke, Norma Jo Mathis, Carina Puleo and brother Andrew Puleo.

After graduating high school in Japan, Margaret studied Accounting at San Diego State University. Soon after starting a part-time job as a teaching assistant, she realized teaching was her true calling, and became an education major. She received her teaching credential from Chico State University.

Eventually after living in 3 countries, 4 states and 5 cities Margaret settled down in her chosen home in Nevada County where she married Keith Brown, had two beautiful daughters Shannon and Sharlina Brown and became an aunt to several nieces and nephews.

While in Nevada County, teaching became more than a profession for Margaret. It was her passion, her way of life, and what she gave to others.

Since 1982, Margaret taught third and second grade at Pleasant Valley and Williams Ranch Elementary Schools. Determined not to let anything get in the way of her desire to teach, Margaret started this current school year, working until her doctors insisted she take a medical leave in August 2012; a true testament to her unrelenting love of teaching.

Margaret was highly respected for her 30 year dedication to educating the children of Nevada County. Over the years she has impacted the lives of hundreds of children in the community, dedicating her time and care to enhancing the lives of others.

In addition to teaching, Margaret loved reading and crafting. She also had an affinity for traveling  with her sister, Carina. Margaret was an avid Sudoku player, referring to herself as a “Sudokuholic”. She found enjoyment in gardening, especially tending to Morning Glories, her favorite flowers. Margaret delighted in focusing on the positive and finding the humor in all aspects of life, sharing her contagious laughter.

While teaching, traveling and friends brought her immense pleasure, Margaret's true joy and source of happy memories stem from her family, especially her daughters Shannon and Sharlina.
